The journey of musical works from author to performer
The task of the music publisher is to put manuscripts (be they paper or computerised) into a form that is legible, inspiring, and easy to use for performers; and to ensure the promotion, distribution, and legal use of the works.
With 75 years of experience behind us, we do this honourable work with consideration, commitment, and enthusiasm.
We thank the composers and music teachers who entrust their works to us.
Andorka, Péter

Péter Andorka was born on January 22, 1987, in Budapest. He first studied percussion with Oszkár Balázs, and later piano with Ágnes Z. Lakos at the Vujicsics Tihamér Primary Arts Education Institution in Szentendre. At the age of 12, he composed his first piano pieces. During this time, he became acquainted with Wagner’s Ring cycle, which sparked his interest in orchestral and, most notably, vocal stage music. As a result, he experimented with various instruments: he played the trombone, classical guitar, recorder, and briefly studied the bass violin.
He graduated from the Franciscan High School in Szentendre. After graduating, from 2005 to 2007, he was a student at the Béla Bartók Secondary School of Music, where he studied under Miklós Kocsár and Miklós Csemiczky. In 2006–2007, he completed the sound engineer–sound technician vocational training at the Hungarian Radio. From 2007 to 2013, he studied composition with János Vajda at the Liszt Academy of Music, where he obtained diplomas in composition and composition teaching, both with honors. In 2017, he completed his MA in Music Education at the same university.
In 2009, he received the Talentum Scholarship from the town of Szentendre, and in 2014, he was commissioned to compose the town’s anthem. In 2013, he won third prize at the “Gárdonyi 150” composer competition with his Christmas Cantata, which was performed by the Hungarian Radio Choir and Orchestra, conducted by Gergely Vajda. In 2018, he was the only Hungarian finalist in the “Key to the Future” opera writing competition with his first opera. His compositions have been performed at contemporary music festivals abroad, and he has received commissions from Hungarian choirs and musical theaters. The Béla Bartók Chamber Choir of Szolnok has regularly performed his choral works for many years.
He has also been active as a teacher: since 2012, he has been a lecturer at the Liszt Academy of Music, where he primarily works with international students. From 2013 to 2021, he taught solfège and music theory at the St Stephen King Secondary School of Music, and also taught for a year at the Karinthy High School in the IB international baccalaureate program.
Since 2009, he has worked as a professional music graphic designer, among others, he has fulfilled numerous commissions for Editio Musica Budapest, Kontrapunkt, Akkord, and Auris Music Publishers, the Hungarian State Opera House, and the Palace of Arts, as well as for several composers, covering a wide range of works from solo pieces to operas. He is also the editor and score designer for the official new scores of the Hungarian National Anthem.
He has been married since 2008 and is the father of five children.
